Cathy Allman is a writer and educator with a master’s in creative writing from Manhattanville College. Cathy has spent decades participating in writing and creativity workshops and has synthesized her experience into the development of Writes of Passage, her workshops for writers.

In addition to the programs at Writes of Passages, Cathy has led successful workshops at Convent of Sacred Heart in Greenwich, Connecticut, Norwalk Community College, and Family and Children’s Agency in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in California Quarterly (CQ), Elysian Fields, Front Range Review, The Old Red Kimono, On Location, Pearl, Pisgah Review, and River Poets Journal.

 

Cathy Allman’s poetry workshops were always an inspiration for my students and a great change from their day-to-day work. She brought poetry from contemporary poets as models and prompts that primed the pump to allow them to begin to write their own poetry.
